The Process Engineer II will identify, develop and deliver innovative solutions that improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving safety and quality standards. The primary purpose of this role is to support improvement of existing processes, design, install, configure and maintain manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve equipment reliability, and develop best practices within the production process. The process engineer’s work is on maintaining reliable and safe manufacturing systems, while improving quality, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), production rates, efficiencies, yields, cost reduction and changeovers.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership on new products by designing and developing manufacturing processes and related fixtures and tooling that are consistent with low defect levels and low product cost.
  • Support operations in improving process reliability and performance. Key success factors include improving line performance and quality throughput, reducing changeover times, reducing equipment downtime and scrap, improving the plant’s overall approach to preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Provide assistance to ensure Quality System programs, processes and procedures are implemented successfully.
  • Support the transition of new technology to make ensure production continues successfully without any delays.
  • Facilitate process/continuous improvement. Identify cost-savings and process improvement projects and move them from concept to implementation. Drive continuous improvement by developing and implementing systems and process improvements that optimize all phases of the production process; be actively involved in the development and implementation of long term improvement plans.
  • Create and maintain process flow, PFMEA, Standard Operating Procedures and line capability and performance documentation.
  • Develop and maintain error proofing methodologies.
  • Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any quality non-conformances related to product, process and systems.
  • Provide technical inputs for incident investigation, root cause analysis and corrective action.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
• This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.  ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Quality Assurance experience preferably in Aerospace or Automotive environment.
• Strong mechanical and manufacturing process skills/experience.
• Analytical skills and understanding of problem solving techniques/tools.
• Data-driven, disciplined, objective and detail oriented.
• Excellent Verbal & Written Communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office applications.
• Demonstrates integrity, credibility, and confidentiality required.
