GRP's Micromill Products and Services business unit is searching for a Process Controls System (PCS) Superintendent. This opening is located at our San Antonio Works facility.  The PCS Superintendent will provide technical leadership for the location PCS needs, guiding the site PCS Technician(s) and contractors. This position maintains and develops process control operating systems from both a hardware and software perspective and is a critical interface in the efficiency, output and quality of the San Antonio processes.
Key responsibilities:
• EHS – Support the site EHS plan.
• Design new process control systems as needed to support existing processes, R&D processes and to advance the  automation of the plant in general.
• Lead special project/assignments as required.
• Responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of control
   systems within a set of Arconic PCS standards utilizing high level programming languages.
• Provide on-call response to restore flow of systems.
• Assist others in following-up on equipment issues, developing technical problem-solving 
  solutions, and driving problems  to root cause.
• Coordinate automation-related activities with Operations and Maintenance Departments; 
  support development, enhancement and security of process systems.
• Complete and document PCS compliance activities.
• Lead PCS capital improvement projects.
• Develop and/or review the maintenance plan for control and instrumentation systems to   
   ensure the strategy is correctly aligned with the Reliability based Maintenance philosophy.
• Provide cost/benefit analysis to support recommended equipment maintenance strategies.
• Initiating and/or implementing improvement projects including engineering solutions to
   eliminate safety and quality concerns, repetitive equipment failures, and to reduce costs.
• Preparing Job Packages for equipment installations & modifications, including: scope of work,
   drawings, bill of materials, and  Lockout/Tagout lists.
• Manufacturing domain administration and security.
• Disaster recovery and restore flow modeling.



Basic Qualifications :

• Associate's degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in process controls design, implementation, and programming.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science  
   Engineering or related field.
• Basic mechanical and machinery knowledge and understanding.
• Working knowledge of Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Knowledge of Aluminum Manufacturing equipment.
