The primary purpose of the Power Systems and Energy Conservation Manager is to manage initiatives to drive cost of energy from all sources to lower levels and to plan and direct activities to maintain the integrity of the Davenport Works Electrical Power Distribution Systems.

Major Activities and Key Challenges:

  • Oversee condition and effectiveness of location power distribution system to meet business needs.
  • Coordinate and manage improvements to power system targeted at improving reliability, redundancy, and flexibility to meet the needs of the location.
  • Oversee and relentlessly pursue energy conservation initiatives to drive cost per pound related to energy to historical low values.
  • Work with plant management to establish a culture of energy awareness and conservation in plant operations and maintenance.
  • Manage interface with public utility services providers
  • Coordinate local activities to align with Corporate strategy. Support Local and Corporate initiatives related to power systems, energy buying, environmental, and energy conservation.
  • Lead capital improvement work as defined by the Engineering Manager in support of the duties of the position.
  • Support local energy tracking and accounting efforts

Essential knowledge and skills include:

  • Theoretical and practical expertise in design and maintenance of large facility power distribution systems.
  • Understanding of plant services systems and sources of significant energy use so that conservation plans can be developed and implemented
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Proven ability to identify and implement technology to solve problems in new and innovative ways.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 10 years' electrical engineering experience;
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience;
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with power systems, design, installation, and maintenance
  • Minimum 1 year of active involvement with energy conservation efforts and leading energy reduction initiatives.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15 years' electrical engineering experience;
  • Minimum 7 year of experience with power systems, design, installation, and maintenance.
