Job Description

The PMO Business Analyst has primary responsibility for critical project management processes on site and acts as a central resource for improving project management capabilities.

Major Activities / Key Challenges:
  • Collaborates with PMO Manager, Portfolio Managers and Financial Accounting to ensure efficient and smooth functioning of project management processes
  • Leads the identification, development and implementation of continuous improvements to the R&D Project Management and Portfolio Development functions and processes
  • Leads the Strategic Alignment process whereby an R&D portfolio is developed, selected and prioritized
  • Provides design input into Project Management Systems to ensure appropriate support of Processes
  • Develops format and reports for R&D Project Reviews and prepares Portfolio Managers with review content
  • Responsible for day to day management of the R&D Stage Gate Process
  • Responsible for day to day management of the Change Management Process
  • Accountable for monthly analysis and reporting of key PMO metrics and budgets and partners with Portfolio Managers on follow-up and corrective actions
  • Facilitates project planning processes for major site R&D initiatives
  • Partners with Project Leaders to increase capabilities in core project management skills and is seen as an expert resource in the area of project management
  • Ability to team and partner with a broad set of internal customers to deliver improvement in multiple areas of project managment is critical to the success of this position
Essential Knowledge &Skills / Education:
  • Bachelors Degree from an Accredited Institution
  • Minimum five years experience in a PMO or as a project manager or portfolio manager
  • Working knowledge of Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
  • Working knowledge of Project Management Information Systems
  • Data analysis and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Attention to detail is critical


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project or portfolio management
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree from an Accredited Institution
  • 5+ years of Project and Portfolio Management experience in a Research & Development setting
  • PMP Certification
  • Experience working in a Project Management Office
  • Experience redesigning internal processes to reduce administrative activity
