Arconic is currently in search of a Plant Manager to join our Global Rolled Products (GRP) Operations business unit in Texarkana, TX.

This position will be responsible for the entire Texarkana facility, which operates 24/7 and employs a workforce of approximately 80 salaried and hourly employees. The role will be responsible for employee relations, safety, quality, delivery, cost and other key functions. This role reports to the Operations Manager at the Lancaster facility.

Responsibilities:
  • Create a strong Environmental Health and Safety culture by delivering results in terms of low injury rates, relentlessly pursuing risk reduction activities including fatality prevention and ergonomics, ensuring compliance and completion of Arconic Self-Assessment Tools for Environment, Health and Safety categories and driving for reduced landfill and increased recycling while meeting all state and federal environmental requirements.
  • Demonstrate customer focus by ensuring manufacturing reliability, on time delivery performance and acceptable product quality. Shipments must occur in a timely manner, meeting regulations, while minimizing costs.
  • Work closely with resources at other Arconic facilities to meet the ingot needs of those facilities.
  • Support growth opportunities and trials.
  • Ensure quality of ISO 9001:2015 and other customer specifications.
  • Ensure financial measures such as Operating Income, RONA, EBITDA, FCF and DOH are met. Develop budgets and proposals for CapEX and major maintenance.
  • Meet the requirements of the Community Framework Program by publicizing Arconic-Texarkana in the community, participating in community groups, and encouraging community service by employees.
  • Engage employees by valuing diversity in hiring and employment decisions, developing employees, utilizing the performance management system to set and measure objectives, and treating all employees with dignity and respect. Partner with Human Resources leadership to lead all people decisions for the location. Drive accountability for achieving goals. Ensure payroll systems are well understood and all required auditing and checks are completed. Deliver targeted engagement scores as measured by the Global Voices Survey.
  • Lead, develop and communicate local strategy. Develop 3-year facility plans, business case and Quarterly strategic plans.
  • Set and deliver year-on-year productivity improvements and cost savings by encouraging continual improvements using the Arconic Business System as the primary tool for achieving manufacturing improvements. Ensure Arconic-Texarkana capacity will meet customer demand while minimizing costs. Translate improvements into DI savings and deliver on yearly DI targets. Engage employees in all improvement activities.
  • Ensure Arconic-Texarkana meets the yearly financial plan in terms of cost per pound. Ensure completion of Financial self-audits
  • Ensure linkage with the Supply Chain team to maximize delivery to customers, minimize costs, and required inventory levels.
  • Ensure maintenance systems are in place to constantly reduce unscheduled downtime while minimizing labor and material costs, including a strong Preventive and Predictive Maintenance system, adequate spare parts and maintenance planning systems. Understand facility’s needs and garner engineering support when needed to complete capital improvements.
  • Administer and implement Labor Relations and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Act as contractor and summer safety coordinator for location. Conducts safety training on various topics or as subject matter dictates.
  • The incumbent has the entire salaried Administrative Staff reporting directly to them, as well as the hourly workforce indirectly.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 8 years operations experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a heavy manufacturing environment
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
