The Plant Engineer supports the production processes by monitoring and improving the plant’s equipment and infrastructure.  The Plant Engineers will identify strategic items and implement improvements to improve reliability.  
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Assist Maintenance in complex problem solving.
  • Plant facilities Single Point of Accountability including electrical distribution.
  • Production Pi-Server Database and Historian support.
  • Capital Improvement Project development and execution for facilities and equipment.
  • Maintain an accurate plant layout.
  • Design equipment improvement for Hot Presses and other equipment using modelling software.
  • Assist in troubleshooting robots, PLCs, and industrial computers.
  • Modify equipment to improve performance and reliability.
  • Maintain critical spares inventory for capital maintenance items.
  • Assist production and engineering with improving availability, utilization, and productivity of equipment.
  • Manage contractors involved in maintaining equipment and the facility.
  • Manage improvement projects
  • Own a technical safety program such as Electrical Safety or LOTO.
  • Support 5s standardization and sustaining.
How Success is Defined:
 Success in this position will be defined by a number of metrics including but not limited to equipment OEE, project schedule attainment, project budget, audit scores, departmental goals, and contribution to the success of the location’s operations.  The plant engineer is expected to continually improve processes to improve efficiency and quality, support customer requirements, and collaborate with commercial for new business.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s in mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 1+ years of experience with working knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles
  • Industrial or manufacturing related engineering experience. Equivalent Internship, Co-Op or project experience is acceptable.
  • Understanding of design and troubleshooting of electrical distribution and control circuits.
  • Strong skills in written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated ability to set and achieve goals with minimum supervision
  • Demonstrated solid teamwork, interpersonal and planning skill
  • Demonstrated of hands on mechanical problem solving.
  • Demonstrated aptitude with programming and electric schematics.
  • Skilled in both verbal and written communication.
  • Knowledge of drafting, dimensioning and geometric tolerancing for the development of detail, assembly, and drawings with specific knowledge of ASME Y14.5 is essential.
  • Understanding of design and troubleshooting of hydraulic equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver capital projects on time and within budget.
  • Experience specifying and ordering equipment.
  • Knowledge of modelling in Autodesk Suite or Solidworks
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, predictive and preventative maintenance techniques.
  • Ability to train a group of people.
  • Database interface and management
  • Allen Bradley PLC programming experience.
  • Robotic controls.
  • Project Management expertise.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills and project management ability.

  • Manufacturing in a low volume environment.
