Arconic (NYSE: ARNC) is looking for a Physical Testing and Quality Systems Specialist to join our Global Rolled Products (GRP) business unit in Davenport, IA.

The Physical Testing and Quality Systems Specialist is responsible for leading quality system implementation and management with the Lab to support accreditation such as NADCAP.  This person will also function as the Lab testing expert for mechanical tests including fracture, fatigue, and tensile. 
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review and approve customer and industry standard requirements for the Lab
  • Serve as the Quality help chain for teams
  • Ensure all mechanical testing equipment is functioning as designed by implementing process control systems such as control charts and process management
  • Drive continuous improvement using ABS (Arconic Business system) (lean manufacturing) stability tools
  • Interpret customer quality requirements across all product categories
  • Evaluate and disposition processing records for compliance to Metallurgical standards


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Metallurgical Engineering, Material Sciences, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in aluminum manufacturing, industrial manufacturing, and or as a Quality Engineer
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee
Preferred Qualifications:
  • In depth knowledge of testing mechanics and equipment
  • In depth knowledge of industry testing standards
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of ABS (lean manufacturing) principles
  • Working knowledge of shop floor systems and Unisys
  • Working knowledge of aluminum manufacturing
