Job Description

JOB DUTIES:
  • Lead the department day-to-day production and work standards activities;
  • Lead people with respect and build fellowship and teamwork;
  • Conduct Hazardous Waste and Safety Audits;
  • Back up for the Department Manager in the Manager’s absence;
  • Clean hand-off of information and system to the next shift Lead
  • Make improvements that add value;
  • Lead and follow all safety and health requirements listed in applicable procedures and work instructions;
  • Train employees and perform observations of work and coach employees back to the standard;
  • Troubleshoot and work with maintenance and department personnel to determine problem (quality, productivity, and downtime) find the root cause and take the leadership role through problem solving activities;
  • Manage the usage of supplies, inventory, and ordering of supplies used in the Paint Room;
  • Interact with other departments to prevent and/or solve problems;
  • Communicate with the Paint Manager and relay instructions to others in the department;
  • Perform duties as assigned by Paint Manager to efficiently meet production schedules and OTIF deliveries;
  • Emphasizes the requirement of safe working practices on the Paint Line;
  • Develop and maintain a good relationship with internal suppliers, promoting a teamwork environment;
  • Lead daily management meeting, track metrics and create improvement plans.


Qualifications

Job Requirements:
  • Must have an excellent understanding of the Paint process and equipment; 
  • Knowledge of Kawneer products;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Excellent decision making and leadership skills;
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook (e-mail) and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel);
  • Working knowledge of JDE shop floor reporting screens;
  • Active support and leadership for ABS tools and concepts;
  • Exhibit safe working practices.
