This opening is in our Kawneer Cranberry business which is located in Cranberry Twp., PA.  We are the leading manufacturer of architectural aluminum products and systems for the commercial construction industry. Kawneer is part of Arconic’s global Building and Construction Systems (BCS) business unit, which manufactures and markets architectural systems and products in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
 
The Packing and Shipping Production Supervisor position is the first level of operational authority providing leadership, coaching and clear direction to ensure employees are working safely, meeting customer demand, producing quality product, solving problems, eliminating waste, and meeting departmental goals. This position is for a first shift role.  Under the direction of the Operations Building Manager, this position is accountable for the following activities:
 
  • Lead by example, specifically with regard to the Arconic Values, EHS and ABS;
  • Ensure the safety and health of the employees
  • Supervise to support achievement of all departmental goals in alignment with the plant business case (e.g. IFE, TRR, DART, Human Performance, OTIF, WCR, Operational Productivity, Labor efficiency, OEE, Inventory, Budget, Quality, etc.);
  • Support ABS actions established for the ABS department together with the Building manager;
  • Engage employees in department initiatives;
  • Support implementation of policies and procedures and recommend improvements in working conditions;
  • Support the area managers on employee performance reviews and disciplinary action when appropriate;
  • Responsible for problem analysis and resolution showing improved process optimization;
  • Guarantee and follow-up on investigations of non-conforming material with the Quality department;
  • Responsible to guarantee the integrity of the system transactions on JDE;
  • Implement, maintain and improve processes that will prevent EHS incidents;
  • Communicate and follow up with area managers on daily/weekly/monthly requirements;
  • Communicate with other production and support departments (Quality, Engineering, PC, ABS, etc.);
  • Review production schedules, staffing requirements and make decisions in order to guarantee the productivity of the area during the shift.
Other duties as needed to meet business objectives;

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience
  • Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
