Job Description


Work Hours for this Midnight Shift are Monday – Friday (10:30 PM – 7:00 AM) Shift starts Sunday at 10:30 PM. Training may be required on Day Shift (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM) or where training is able to be scheduled before moving to Night Shift.

 

Starting wage: $17.34 per hour.

12-month wage: $21.51 per hour.

Job Summary
The packer performs various duties relating to the packaging and shipping of castings.


Essential Job Functions
  • Receives castings and examines the accompanying lot ticket to determine if X-ray, Zyglo, Dimensional Inspection and other operations have been completed as required by a routing procedure sheet.
  • Coordinates with the supervisor to assure accuracy and completeness of previous operations and indicates any discrepancy.
  • Checks in Master Heat Log to determine if heat numbers and heat batches, coincide with the approved master heat certifications, if not call Heat Treat
  • Sorts castings according to heat numbers, alloy numbers and properly approved cavity numbers.
  • Types stencils from information supplied through marking instructions and memos from Quality
  • Packages marked castings into compartmented shipping containers.
  • Routes properly identified casting to X-ray in quantities predetermined by Supervisor and checks films returned with castings for coinciding and positioning.


ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Expected to assist in the implementation of company’s EHS value and policy statement and its accompanying principles.
  • Comply with all department, facility, Corporate and Regulatory EH&S regulations.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment.
  • Report all job-related illness and injuries. (Per employee handbook).
  • Report all Safety, Health & Environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Attend all EH&S training.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including night and weekends with little advanced notice
  • Previous packing experience helpful

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/EQUIPMENT USED
  • Frequent walking and standing, frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds
  • Equipment used: Vibropeen machine, electrolytic etch machine, dot matrix marking machine, airflow bench, alloy verification gun.
  • This position provides clerical support to designated department or area.

  • Intermediate Computer Skills

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Candidates residing within 50 miles radius of Dover, NJ will only be considered.
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
