We are seeking high-performance individuals with experience in design for additive manufacturing and operation of metal 3D printers, preferably SLM, Arcam, EOS to join our team as a New Product Introduction Additive Manufacturing Engineer.

We are looking for an experienced self-motivator who has been involved in additive manufacturing (AM) solutions for internal and external customers. The candidate will be a part of a cross functional team of engineering, sales and customer support developing and executing a business plan to achieve growth in the 3D printing market.

In performing this role, the NPI AM Engineer will require skills in additive manufacturing equipment, Project Engineering, Design, and Manufacturing Engineering and other AM specific topics. The NPI AM Engineer may be responsible for Project Management, Project Execution, Organizational Support or all of these tasks for a given project depending on the size and complexity of the project or projects. The position will help our customers to provide cost effective solutions on their next generation platforms.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Proficient communication skills, collaborates well in a team environment. Sensitive to customer needs and can develop intimate internal and external relationships. Intimate understanding of the additive manufacturing field is a plus;
  • Has an intimate working knowledge of multiple powder bed additive manufacturing machines (SLM, Arcam, EOS, Renishaw, etc.);
  • Create build files, layouts and use cost estimation models and trade studies, modify CAD models to reflect AM standard work;
  • Assess AM part candidates for manufacturability, equipment selection, design optimization and model modifications potential;
  • Lead and provide technical direction for AM technicians and be willing to use AM equipment when required;
  • Develop content and best practices for AM designs and manufacturability by establishing Design Guides to ensure lessons learned and best practices are documented;
  • Become familiar with and be able to run AM equipment in support of assigned tasks;
  • Manage acquisition of necessary capital, maintenance contracts, consumables, software to enable AM Engineer and Technicians to perform their roles.



Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum 1 year of additive manufacturing experience;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy, Physics or related field from an accredited institution;
  • Master's Degree from an accredited institution;
  • 3+ years of additive manufacturing experience;
  • 3+ years' experience in manufacturing, production, and/or R&D environment;
  • Aerospace industry experience is a plus;
  • Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science or Metallurgical Engineering from an accredited institution;
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma or equivalent problem-solving methodologies preferred;
  • Knowledge of materials engineering/ metallurgy is a plus;
  • Advanced skill level in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. SAP is a plus;
  • Metals additive manufacturing experience preferred.
