Job Description

The below is meant to describe the main tasks and is not necessarily an exhaustive list of duties. It does not preclude the need to carry out other specific tasks from time to time as required.

In this position, an NDT Technician can expect to be responsible for the following:
 

  • Working closely with Quality and Manufacturing to ensure that all manufacturing and inspection activities are performed in compliance with process work documents.
  • Perform in process inspections to ensure compliance with all requirements.
  • Maintain records, verify effective implementation of Quality Programs and participate during internal, customer and regulatory audits.
  • Perform in-coming inspections for all raw materials/components/forgings before they can be released for process/production operations. 
  • Insure in-process inspections are completed per relevant specifications during the production process.
  • Formally investigate, validate or reject inspected parts in compliance with internal and customer specifications.
  • Performs non-destructive testing, using appropriate method i.e. ultrasonic, dye penetrant, etch, visual, magnetic particle.
  • Perform mechanical, visual and dimensional inspections of parts, including final identity confirmation prior to release.
  • Inspectors qualified to Level II will assist inspectors of lesser qualifications as required.
  • Any other task commensurate with this post


Qualifications

The successful candidate for this position will need to possess the following:
 

•         GCSE’s in Science & Maths Grade C (Minimum) or college or technical school equivalent

•         4-6 years of NDT Quality Inspection experience

•         Certification/experience in non-destructive testing PCN/ASNT at level II: -

UT Manual contact (wrought products)

FMPI and/or Penetrant

It would be beneficial (but not essential) to have the following skills / experience:

•         Certification/experience in non-destructive testing PCN/ASNT at level II: -

             UT Immersion wrought product bar and billet

                    UT Immersion Disc forms

                    UT Immersion Shaft forms

•         Candidates who have had previous experience exposure to NADCAP audits and performing compliance checks during such audits.

Additional training, where required, would be provided to successful candidates.
