Arconic (NYSE: ARNC) is looking for a NADCAP and Thermal Engineer to join our Global Rolled Products (GRP) business unit in Davenport, IA.

The NADCAP and Thermal Engineer is responsible for providing knowledge and support to thermal operations.  In this role you will own preparation and compliance requirements of NADCAP for the Davenport facility. 
Additional responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following:
  • Lead and coordinate NADCAP thermal audits
  • Approve claims within designated limits
  • Perform NADCAP thermal health check/internal audit
  • Respond to audit findings / communicate with auditing body
  • In depth knowledge of load reports, thermal requirements and specifications
  • Support new furnace installations or major modifications to support commissioning activities and ensure proper product qualifications are completed
  • Drive continuous improvement using ABS stability tools (lean manufacturing)


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Metallurgical Engineering, Material Sciences, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in industrial heat treatment
  • Minimum of 2 years NADCAP experience
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong math skills to calculate various percentage
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Working knowledge of Shop Floor systems, Unisys, and furnace HMI’s
  • Strong knowledge of NADCAP/AMS 2750/AMS 2772 thermal requirements and specifications
  • Working knowledge of aluminum manufacturing process
