Job Description

•         Control the metallurgical manufacturing process covering a broad range of materials and products.

•         Design, improve and carry put problem solving on manufacturing processes and products.

•         Review customer specifications and drawings and approve for release of manufacture.

•         Generate customer concessions and communicate with customer on technical matters.

•         Deal with enquiries for part manufacture and generate provisional routes for quotation purposes.

•         Maintain records, review and approve appropriate metallurgical data and statistical data.

•         Carry out internal and external audits.

•         Define heat treatment and forging temperatures..

•         Responsible for investigating the route cause of non conformances on products using methods such as 8D, 5 Why’s etc when appropriate.

•         New parts launch and substantiation (APQP PPAP).

•         Facilitate both internal and external quality meetings.

•         Metallurgical investigations and generation of technical reports.

•         Control Technical Process Building in Tropos – business management system for new and amended process routes.

•         Responsible for the maintenance of current and new methods of manufacture and subsequent customer approvals.

•         Manage the technical requirements relative to the procurement of raw material.

•         Q-Pulse Software User.

•         Q-Pulse – Non-Conformance Management.

•         Technical Department Liaison with New Parts Team.

•         Participate in multi discipline teams to address issues aligned to the achievement of Company objectives.

•         To operate within the company standards relating to Security, Quality, Environment, Health and Safety.

Undertake other tasks within the scope of your expertise as required.

Qualifications

•         Ideally have an academic qualification or relevant experience in metallurgy/manufacturing.

•         Excellent IT skills
