Arconic is seeking highly-motivated and energetic engineering students to join our team for the 2019- 2020 school year for either a full-time intern rotation or as a part-time co-op student for the school year at our Niles, Ohio location.

The co-op job assignment will begin immediately and complete at a mutually agreed upon date in 2020.
Job Description
  • Assist with melt process improvement projects.
  • Follow-up on key action items (e.g. with Operations, Maintenance, Quality and Planning).
  • Status updates and reporting.
  • Data gathering and analysis.
  • Oversight / process audits of the melt shop.
  • Review current SWP’s and suggest revisions to improve effectiveness.
  • Understand and execute basic melt control functions.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Principal Melt Process Metallurgist.
Preferred Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in undergraduate program in an Engineering Major (Materials Science preferred; Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related disciplines ok).
• Strong scientific aptitude and curiosity about how things work.
• Process control mind-set.
• Enjoys hands-on problem solving on the shop floor, including fire-fighting (works well under pressure).
• Prior industrial experience (engineering perspective) preferred.
• Experience with or exposure to statistical analysis (e.g. MINITAB) highly desirable.
• Impeccable integrity; strong work-ethic; reliable; individually accountable.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; detail oriented.
• Team orientation.


Basic Qualifications
Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor's degree or master's degree program in an engineering discipline. Junior or Senior level status required.
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Relevant internship/work/research experience preferred.
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
