Job Duties / Responsibilities:
Work is performed throughout a heavy industrial facility. Potential hazards include high heat applications, proximity of moving machinery, noise, heavy lifting, working at heights, in pits and in confined spaces. Will perform routine service, setups, adjustments, installations, repairs and modifications to production equipment, buildings and grounds; Perform preventive and predictive tasks associated with plant and equipment; Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic circuits; Identify and correct defects in equipment; Installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of tapered, cylindrical, spherical roller and sleeve bearings; Repair and troubleshooting of reducers and gearboxes; Perform welding (MIG, TIG and stick), burning and flame cutting as required; Practice/understand rigging fundamentals to change out large components; Basic electrical (fuse replacement, small motor replacement, etc.) and will work with electricians as required; Work with operations to resolve issues; Work with little supervision to complete work on time; Understand and perform lockout/tag out, fall protection, confined space and other safety related procedures. Maintain clean and organized work areas. Proficient at using hand tools, portable electric tools & typical shop stationary equipment. Complete required daily paperwork and make computer entries. Capable of operating production equipment as required or needed.


Basic Qualifications / Requirements:
Associates Degree in a related filed OR equivalent experience of at least 2 years in a manufacturing or industrial environment; Must have permanent authorization to work in the U.S. without need for sponsorship; Ability to work in a manufacturing atmosphere safely and follow safety practices and regulations; Must be willing and able to work any shift  in a 24/7 operation and overtime including weekends and holidays; Ability to lift at least 50lbs as needed; Must have basic computer skills to create work orders, complete work orders, plan work, identify parts, and locate spare parts using a computerized maintenance management system after training; Must be able to legally operate company motor vehicles and mobile equipment; Must have strong math skills including reading fractions and decimals; Must have strong troubleshooting skills; Basic welding and flame cutting experience with a basic understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics. The position requires an individual to stand, climb, work at heights, stoop, move equipment; bend, reach, or lift for prolonged periods of time. PPE includes FR9 clothing, safety glasses, hard hat, and steel toed boots with metatarsal protection, hearing protection and other safety equipment as required. Qualified candidates must be able to pass a background test, physical and drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications Include:
Five years experience as a mechanical maintenance technician or millwright in heavy industry; Experience with high-pressure hydraulic systems; Ability to read blueprints and diagrams, hydraulic diagrams in particular; Basic machining and precision measuring skills; Good MIG, TIG and stick welding experience; Pipe fitting experience; Experience and skills with bearing maintenance and replacement; Experience and skills in lubrication practices and principles; Experience with power transmission systems (gearboxes, couplings, chain drive); Basic electrical knowledge and skills; Experience operating mobile equipment and overhead cranes; Experience with rigging to remove and replace heavy equipment; Experience with Microsoft Office Excel and Word; Experience with combustible furnaces. Strong teamwork, communication, reading and comprehension skills required.
