Our Business Unit, Global Rolled Products (GRP) is a dynamic global organization that offers the widest variety of aluminum plate and sheet in the world. GRP is made up of Arconic's rolling operations round the world. Arconic Mill Products in Davenport, Iowa is seeking a Storeroom/Materials Management Leader Davenport/GRP and Satellites. This position will report to the GRP Procurement Operations Director at for NA-UK. The primary purpose of this position is to oversee and lead the stores/receiving operation for MRO goods at the Davenport Operations and Satellite Operations at Danville Illinois and San Antonio, Texas. Additionally, the position will Provide leadership and coordination of storeroom best practices and drive for continue improvement assist other GRP facility storerooms to optimize their processes. This position is also the "storeroom expert" for GRP and asked to provide support and back-up as required to other GRP locations in NA/UK. This position is crucial in helping to move GRP storerooms to World Class levels using Arconic Business Systems, and Lean Manufacturing Techniques where storerooms are a strategic advantage to our operations.Many best practices, procedures and methods are developed at the Davenport and Satellite locations.
  • Under the direction of the Procurement Director provide strategic direction and assistance to all Davenport Satelittes and GRP plant storerooms, assisting in implementing optimized processes and providing guidance on current processes/practices. Implement KPI's which are standard across storerooms and benchmarked against world class metrics. Works closely with Procurement and Item set-up teams to increase standardization and Inventory optimization acros the GRP Network and supply chain.
  • Oversee all aspects of the MRO stores inventory control function at Davenport and Satellites, along with related receiving functions and troubleshooting of materials flow to the plant while integrating new processes to support REX (Reliability Excellence Initiatives), Step Change and World Class Inventory strategies. The focus must be on Inventory Optimization and not just pure reduction of inventory. This position will require excellent communication and team skills to work across organizational matrixes and boundaries with Procurement in GRP and Corporate Procurement, Maintenance, finance and engineering and develop strong relationships with key location suppliers etc.
  • Oversee the maintaining of a Safe Work Environment and lead the storeroom and employee's to injury free environment employing all of Arconic's best practices and tools such as Human Performance and adopting all EHS best practices and procedures required for all Plant departments.
  • Be responsible for building an atmosphere and team culture to facilitate team problem solving and team accountabilities combined with individual accountability and work assignments. Implement in stores the Plant's Daily Management board process, further drive and improve ABS (Arconic Business System) techniques and methods and link into Maintenance initiatives and REX.
  • Oversee Storeroom Inventory Control and Stocking Level Optimization - this position will be responsible for directly and indirectly for setting stocking levels given the supply and demand picture for each item and optimizing inventory levels using the min/max optimization system. The person in this position is expected to be a leader and expert in the management of inventory levels and look to build considerable expertise in this area for Arconic and build a network with other experts across GRP.
  • Oversee the management of Inventory Issues and adjustments - This position will oversee individuals responsible for physical and cycle counting process to demonstrate 98% or greater inventory accuracy but who are also responsible for making adjustments as needed with proper guidance from Site Lead and Finance control processes when they occur. Although adjustments should be kept to a minimum, they are inevitable and must be carefully controlled and communicated. Use these opportunities to perform corrective actions on any deficiencies.
  • Maintain Materials Management Records - the position will be involved in the creation and set-up of new items, maintaining proper classifications (spare parts, operating supplies criticalities) etc so that the item groups can be managed effectively with the appropriate process. This will also include the changes and editing of an item so that accurate descriptions and manufacturing part numbers are also maintained for Procurement and our suppliers. Deactivation of all items not needed or obsolete is an important aspect of this requirement. The target would be that "all items" are catalogued and given Oracle item numbers even if they are used by Vending, VMI, and other processes not controlled by order Release from Oracle.
  • Oversee the Resolution of Receiving Issues - Identify and resolve receiving issues, work with central and GRP procurement teams to resolve. Issue corrective actions to as required to suppliers and maintain an NCN (non-conformance notification) log.
  • Manage Storeroom and Materials managagement (F9- MM ASATS) - The incumbent is required to complete ASAT requirements to stay in financial compliance with Arconic's Self Assessment tool, and also support Arconic financial audits as required. The expectation is that the location and storeroom will achieve a minimum of a "good" in the audit results for the storeroom.
  • Work with Procurement on Setting up and Managing Consignment, Vendor Managed Inventory, Vending Machines, and also Point of use materials delivery systems. Set-up inventory control and distribution systems to help manage expenses and ability to "slow down" replenishment without impacting operations when financial levers are requested.
  • Demand Control - Works with Procurement and Site leads to implement storeroom and other material supply methods to control demand and usage to help keep costs and expenditures low and eliminate waste.
  • Oversee the implementation deploymenet and success of the Repair and Warranty Program for Davenport as the Pilot and help extend this model to other GRP locations.
  • Work closely with Maintainance and Operations to improve Reliability Excellence (REX) and ABS (Arconic Business systems) to drive Plant uptime and pro-active maintainance programs (kitting, PM's, Critical spare reviews etc)
Be the GRP leader/coach for all corporately driven specification development and required testing of Oracle and related systems (Clear Orbit, Easy Stores, etc.) impacting inventory systems.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, or Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5 Years’ experience in inventory warehouse, storeroom environment, or supply chain management.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong Analytical ability to use data and evaluate solutions and opportunities.
  • Strong computer systems background including Oracle, Microsoft office and strong Excel proficiency (V-lookup / pivot tables).
  • Strong communication and project management skills to maintain tasks and assignments, priorities, project deadlines, and interact with multiple levels in the organization and across Arconic business and resource units.
  • Demonstrated experience with Business Related Storeroom software - Oracle RTP (Purchasing and Inventory) and eAM (maintenance).
  • Supply chain experience and technically oriented.
