Job Description

Working under the general direction of the Director, Marketing for Kawneer North America (KNA), the Marketing Intern is responsible for supporting tactical execution of the marketing plan as it relates to assigned programs and initiatives including, fulfillment/distribution services, marketing database maintenance/enhancement and marketing communications programs through a variety of integrated media including but not limited to website, video, print, trade shows, publicity, social media, direct marketing, trade advertising, sponsorships, events etc.
  • Supports the marketing team daily activities including but not limited to fulfillment program; assess and process literature/promotional material needs/requests, sales lead processing from multiple marketing channels - looking for ways to continually improve process and throughput/output.
  • Provides support and coordinates/executes assigned marketing communications projects –website content and publishing - writing, editing and proofreading as required or assigned.
  • Assists in the creation of email campaigns, social media content, customer communications and other initiatives as assigned.
  • Assists with creating/analyzing tracking reports of digital and traditional marketing efforts.
  • Assists with monitoring social channels and website and support responses to feedback, questions, and concerns.
  • Assists in planning and support of trade shows/events
  • Executes special assignments as determined by Director, Marketing, Kawneer North America.

Basic Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate (BA or BS) student studying marketing, communications, public relations for business environment.
  • 3.0 GPA and above.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Should possess a professional work ethic and be enthusiastic to gain knowledge of our business (building and construction) to quickly grasp technical product details and produce results.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including original writing and copy-editing capability
  • The ability to work in a multitask, high volume environment and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn on the job and share experiences with team members; working independently and with others.
  • Experience with marketing computer software, online applications, Google Analytics.
  • Some knowledge of business social media best practices and platforms.
  • Data entry and strong computer skills a must including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) required as well as experience with Publisher and Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator and GoLive (HTML) or comparable software suite.
