Arconic Fastening Systems (AFS) is looking for a Manufacturing 2nd Shift Supervisor to direct and assist manufacturing teams on the 2nd shift (4:00 pm – 2:30 am) in obtaining efficient operation of the manufacturing activities. This role will maintain a customer focus (quality and on-time delivery are priority); assure a safe and healthful workplace; and direct and supervise the activities of manufacturing team leaders, technicians and operators. The Manufacturing Supervisor will show by example a commitment to employee involvement, participative management, and continuous improvement. This position is located at our aerospace fastener plant in Tucson, AZ.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Actively lead production team in product and process improvement on the 2nd shift (4:00 pm to 2:30 am)
  • Provides direction in order for department to meet company goals
  • Daily time and attendance tracking of employees
  • Vacation tracking of employees.
  • Perform reviews, assessments and feedback of operators’ performance
  • Facilitate compliance with company safety, housekeeping, attendance policies and practices.
  • Perform counseling and progressive discipline as needed.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
  • Manage ABS opportunities in factory assigned to.
  • Provide direction to operators and make recommendations for coaching and counseling action.
  • Participates in hiring decisions regarding operators.
  • Perform other tasks as needed in support of manufacturing operations, customers and suppliers.
  • Helps to ensure that quality and standards for the department are adhered to and maintained.
  • Assumes other special activities and responsibilities from time to time as required.
  • Adheres to Arconic EH&S, Quality, Continuous Improvements and other Company Policies.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and time/attendance monitoring systems
  • Willing and able to supervise 2nd shift (4:00 pm to 2:30 am)

Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED, from an accredited Institution
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Business or a management-related field, from an accredited institution
  • Experience with the manufacturing of precision machined metal components
  • Experience supervising a 2nd shift
  • Experience in the aerospace industry
