Arconic Fastening Systems is looking for a Manufacturing Supervisor to direct and assist manufacturing teams in obtaining efficient operation of the manufacturing activities. This role will maintain a customer focus (quality and on-time delivery are priority); assure a safe and healthful workplace; and direct and supervise the activities of manufacturing team leaders, technicians and operators. The Manufacturing Supervisor will show by example a commitment to employee involvement, participative management, and continuous improvement. This position is located at our aerospace fastener plant in Tucson, AZ.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Actively lead production team in product and process improvement
  • Provide direction in order for department to meet company goals
  • Track daily time and attendance of employees
  • Track vacations of employees.
  • Perform assessments and feedback of operators’ performance
  • Facilitate compliance with company safety, housekeeping, attendance policies and practices.
  • Perform counseling and progressive discipline as needed.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
  • Manage continuous improvement opportunities in factory assigned to.
  • Provide direction to operators and make recommendations for coaching and counseling action if needed.
  • Participates in hiring decisions regarding operators.
  • Perform other tasks as needed in support of manufacturing operations, customers and suppliers.
  • Helps to ensure that quality and standards for the department are adhered to and maintained.
  • Assumes other special activities and responsibilities from time to time as required.
  • Adheres to Arconic EH&S, Quality, Continuous Improvements and other Company Policies.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Institution
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in manufacturing OR 6+ months of experience working in an Arconic manufacturing facility
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prefer that the Bachelor's Degree is in Engineering, from an accredited institution
  • Experience with the manufacturing of precision machined metal components
  • Experience in a machine shop
  • Experience with TPS/ Continuous Improvement / Lean Manufacturing principles and programs
  • Experience in the aerospace industry
