Job Description

Main functions & responsibilities:
Insures compliance with company policies, procedures, and practices.
Coordinates production activities with maintenance and quality activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
Supervision of production team, including planning and holding meetings, preparing and conducting performance appraisals, assisting with career development (motivates, coaches, and trains to acquire maximum quality, productivity, morale, and cooperation), approving time and attendance, and prioritizing and making work assignments.
Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality standards, develop budget and cost controls, obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
Plans and directs production activities in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems.
Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
Revises production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems.
Consults with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
Leads safety, housekeeping, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Leads or participates in design of acquisition of capital equipment.  Generates Capital Appropriation Requests.
Monitors equipment status and procures maintenance services, as needed, to keep equipment functioning adequately.
Maintains quality and reduces inventory levels and lead times.
Tracks, analyzes, and reports performance.  Develops and implements process improvement projects.  Standardizes work operations.
Interfaces with engineering and quality leaders to resolve process and product problems and non-compliances.  Formulates and implements cause and corrective actions.
Prepares written and oral reports, participates in production, staff, and engineering meetings, performs plant safety inspections, and assists Supervisors rin performing their duties.
Complies with all EHS rules required for the work environment.
