Arconic Engines is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I, for our Super Alloy Facility located at Dover, NJ. The Manufacturing Engineer focuses on the design and operation of integrated systems to produce high-quality, economically competitive products. They are also responsible for the continuous improvement of manufacturing process by improving work design, flow of materials and through training and coaching of employees.

The Manufacturing Engineer is a project – focused individual contributor. As a Manufacturing Engineer at Arconic Dover Alloy some of the job responsibilities may include but are not limited to;
  • Comply with all department, facility, corporate and regulatory Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) regulations as well as manage existing or new EHS program(s) across the business as assigned.
  • Expected to assist in the implementation of Arconic’s’ value and policy statement, accompanying its principles.
  • Oversee the technical and engineering responsibilities in a manufacturing environment on the plant floor, balancing business needs and financial metrics with continuous improvement, and the personal, professional, and analytical toolset necessary to accomplish these goals.
  • Accountable for the design, layout, testing and evaluation of mechanical and electro-mechanical devices or systems.
  • Technical Lead for Capital, Manufacturing or Process based projects including defining scope, cost justification, developing timelines, managing implementation and monitoring results.
  • Monitor and evaluate alloy processes to identify waste and implement solutions through root cause / corrective action problem solving technique alongside cross functional departments.
  • Trains Operators and other employees in problem solving methodology, 5S, and other improvement tools. Facilitates and leads problem solving and kaizen teams
  • Ability to create technical reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals for the alloy operations along with effectively presenting information and respond to questions from groups such as managers, clients, etc.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Manufacturing Experience
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in interpretation of mechanical and electrical schematic drawings as well as competence of understanding other technical documentations such as manuals, procedures, specification and or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office programs and Computer Aided Drafting skills required. Strong Excel and AutoCAD proficiency is essential.
  • The Manufacturing Engineering position is a first shift position and the role will require a minor amount of travel (10-15%) depending on active projects.
