Arconic Fastening Systems is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer II to investigate and resolve work-in-process problems, and to develop and refine manufacturing processes. The Manufacturing Engineer will also prepare programs for NC and CNC machines using Computer Aided Machining systems and manual methods. This position is located at our hand tool manufacturing plant in Kingston, NY.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develops work methods, production processes, and tooling to manufacture products to desired specifications and business objectives. Increasing knowledge and skill in products, processes and systems.
  • Prepares and modifies process sheets and operation sketches; designs tooling for production, and prepares programs for NC and CNC machines using Computer Aided Machining systems and manual methods.
  • Troubleshoots manufacturing operations and provides shop support on all production related issues.
  • Serves as the manufacturing liaison to the Product Engineering, Accounting, Quality Assurance, and Customer Service departments.
  • Establishes time standards for all manufacturing operations.
  • Reviews manufacturing operations to identify where process improvements can be made. Recommends and coordinates the implementation of process improvements.
  • Coordinates the selection, justification, and implementation of capital projects.
  • Prepares cost estimates for the production of new or revised parts and low usage items.
  • Inputs and maintains routing and Bill-Of-Material information in the Management Information System.
  • Participates in the development of the plant layout and provides plant layout drawings in support of facility engineering.
  • Recommends and implements product design and specification changes for improved quality and/or manufacturability.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited Institution
  • Minimum 2 years of engineering experience in manufacturing
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer the Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, from an accredited institution
  • Experience determining machining processes, sequences, and durations from product prints.
  • Experience identifying and resolving complex machining problems.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical inspection techniques and devices.
  • Ability to write programs for CNC machining equipment including G- code and CAM expertise.
  • Working knowledge of CAD systems
  • Experience designing and drawing fixtures and tools used in production. Experience evaluating and implementing cutting tool requirements
