This opening is in our Kawneer business which is in Norcross, GA. We are the leading manufacturer of architectural aluminum products and systems for the commercial construction industry. Kawneer is part of Arconic’s global Building and Construction Systems (BCS) business unit, which manufactures and markets architectural systems and products in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

The Manager, Product Data Management is responsible for providing technical leadership for Computer Aided Design (CAD), Product Data Management (PDM) and other Engineering related technical applications within NA Global Product Engineering Organization.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Monitor and support all CAD/PDM system applications (Vault, Teamcenter, AutoCAD, Inventor, etc.) and other engineering related software;
  • Maintain ownership of engineering change system and standards from inception of change request, collation of inputs, to approval and communication of changes;
  • Collaborate with cross functional client stakeholders from Engineering, Manufacturing and IT to improve and deploy engineering software & systems;
  • Maintain knowledge of state-of-the-art CAD/PDM technology, trends and developments; serves as technical consultant for CAD/PDM;
  • Develop and maintain reporting and drives root cause analysis towards improving overall delivery;
  • Responsible for the implementation and continued development of 3D technology;
  • Management of installations, licensing, upgrades, migrations as related to CAD/PDM systems;
  • Responsible for developing, maintaining and conducting CAD/PDM related training.

Major Activities and Key Challenges Include:
  • Possess and continue to develop strong computer skills with an advance working knowledge of a variety of CAD/PDM products with additional working knowledge of Microsoft Suite;
  • Have a thorough understanding and experience with product design and proper engineering documentation preparation and engineering data management;
  • Substantial time, project and people management skills with an ability to work with cross functional teams;
  • Experience in managing implementation of CAD/PDM systems with a strong understanding of CAD/PDM infrastructure;
  • Maintain success with the ability to lead, train and mentor direct reports.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience;
  • Minimum of 3 years of Project Management experience;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology focused in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Systems from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with PDM/PLM, design or product development;
  • Experience performing data analytics.
