Job Overview


• We are looking for a Manager of Financial Transactions and Policy based at the Arconic Corporate Center on the North Shore in Pittsburgh, PA. The position reports to the Senior Manager of the group.


• The Financial Accounting (FA) department is responsible for assisting the Business Units (Global Rolled Products, Engineered Products & Solutions, and Transportation & Construction Services) and Resource Units (Business Development, Treasury, Tax, Legal, etc.) with addressing complex accounting issues and developing accounting policies for Arconic worldwide. Also, the FA department performs financial analysis and represents Arconic's financial and accounting interests associated with acquisitions and divestitures.


• This position is accountable for complex accounting, reporting, analysis and audit activities to ensure the accurate and timely reporting of Arconic’s financial results for both internal and external purposes. The candidate would be required to analyze and evaluate accounting policies and transactions; analyze, test and report financial data; and participate in the preparation of financial and management reports for use by senior level management. The candidate would also be required to add interpretive value and context on accounting matters through consulting with Business Unit and Resource Unit management.

Major Activities/Key Challenges


• Evaluating, documenting and concluding on complex accounting issues and financial transactions identified/ proposed by Resource Unit, Business Unit and operating location personnel.


• Developing and implementing procedures for new accounting pronouncements and developing global accounting and reporting standards.


• Providing oversight and making revisions to the Arconic accounting policy manual.


• Analyzing monthly financial results of legal entities and summarizing findings for review by executive management.


• Assisting with the preparation and review of SEC financial filings and quarterly earnings materials.


• Managing ongoing relationships with personnel within an assigned Business Unit customer base and within the various Resource Units.


• Assisting Business Unit and Resource Unit personnel in evaluating potential acquisition and divestiture targets. This will include performing the financial due diligence and providing guidance in developing assumptions, values and forecasts used in business valuations and will also include representing Arconic's financial and accounting interests by providing input on deal structures, terms, and legal commitments.

Basic Qualifications


• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration/Management from an accredited university.


• CPA certification.


• Minimum of 7 years' financial accounting work experience.


• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.



Preferred Qualifications


• Master's degree in Accounting or Business Administration from an accredited institution.

• Strong communication and technical writing skills.

• Knowledge of due diligence objectives and procedures; experience working on acquisitions and divestitures.

• Work experience in a national public accounting firm.

• Extensive knowledge of accounting under U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and SEC reporting requirements, as well as introductory knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards.
