Arconic Engines is looking for a Manager of Cost Estimating who is responsible for the oversight of the Central Estimating (CE) Department supplying quotes and proposal packages in support of the Rings Operations, providing guidance to Supervisor and Estimators, and insuring that cost estimates and corresponding quotes are handled in a timely and accurate manner in support of securing profitable business. The position will be located in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Sets work priorities for the CE team;
  • Monitors flow of incoming Request for Quotations (RFQ’s) and insures timely completion of quotes;
  • Oversees the quality of cost estimates and quotes to insure they accurately reflect the capabilities of the applicable facilities;
  • Insures strong understanding of manufacturing cost and ability to analyze cost to establish customer pricing;
  • Coordinates with plants to insure timely product rationalization guideline as the basis for assigning quotes to the sites;
  • Insures that the quotes reflect the current site lead-times and raw material costs;
  • Supports activity related to the weekly Power Hour call and associated file;
  • Jointly responsible, in conjunction with Outside Sales and the Plant Sales Managers, for insuring each site meets their annual booking targets (value and margin);
  • Develop integrated tools and processes to aid in spot market quoting and Long-Term Agreements;
  • Develops product pricing and negotiation strategy with Sales;
  • Interfaces with functional leaders (Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance) and senior leadership to align and support contract negotiations;
  • Prepares proposal packages;
  • Responsible for insuring that the contract database is current and provides monthly reports summarizing market/margin opportunities;
  • Strives to increase profitability of product lines through pricing and/or or cost control;
  • Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information to draw sound conclusions;
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends;
  • Validates quote accuracy on NPI parts through follow-up with plants on actual costs;
  • Reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals;
  • Products routine reports and correspondence; 
  • Performs related duties as assigned.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in an Engineering or Business discipline; 
  • Minimum of 5 of years of experience in a manufacturing environment;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
