Job Description

PMT (Plant Maintenance Technician) will perform maintenance services and repairs in the areas of HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, electrical and servicing of all systems in climate controlled areas of the plant.   
  • Expected to assist in the implementation of EHS Values and policy statements and accompanying principles.
  • Comply with all department, facility, corporate and regulatory EHS regulations.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report all job-related illness and injuries (Per Employee Handbook).
  • Report all safety, health and environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Attend all EHS training.
  • Perform routine preventative and predictive maintenance as well as emergency breakdown repairs in order to ensure that HVAC systems continue to run smoothly and building systems operate efficiently.
  • Be able to work with and diagnose problems with pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical systems on HVAC machinery.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs and straight edges.
  • Align and balance equipment after installation, repair or service.
  • Assemble, install and /or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings gears and other parts of machinery
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manual and parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Dismantle devices to gain success to remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools and replacing defective parts with new parts or repairs parts.
  • Inspect Operator and test Machinery and equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions
  • Support all TPM efforts
  • Manage AM and PM Schedule and back log
  • Train other maintenance personnel on equipment in area.
  • Perform all standard work for PMT
  • May be required to weld parts, and replace faulty wiring, switches or relays.
  • The PMT is required to do frequent standing and lifting, pushing and pulling of up to 25 pounds.
  • This job also requires the use of hand and power tools as well as measurement equipment and computers.
  • The working conditions of this job vary but include exposure to mechanical moving equipment, precarious places, confined spaces, fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, outside weather conditions and vibration.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years industrial plant maintenance mechanic experience preferred
  • Self-Starter and able to manage time and multiple projects
  • Computer literate
  • Must be able to thrive in a team environment
  • Will need to work overtime when needed
  • Able to read blue prints and measurement instruments.
  • Able to teach and train others on equipment knowledge, troubleshooting skills and TPM.
  • Able to master equipment in designated area within 180 days.

  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position.  Candidates residing within a 50 miles radius of Dover, NJ will only be considered.
