Job Description

Arconic is currently in search of a Maintenance Technician (Electrical), to join our Global Rolled Products Operations business unit at our San Antonio Works facility. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining plant equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Be knowledgeable of PLCs, DC motors and controls, variable speed drives, SCADA systems, and the ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Recognize that accident and injury prevention are equal in importance to production, quality, delivery, recovery and cost control. The incumbent accepts the responsibility to work safely and promote safety consciousness among other employees.
  • Manage multiple tasks and prioritize to ensure minimum interruption to process
  • Assist general mechanics and operators as necessary.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and makes repairs or improvements as needed.
  • Operate mobile equipment including forklift, man lift, scissor lift, and overhead cranes to complete job assignments.
  • Use precision instruments to align and take measurements of equipment that is being modified or installed.

  • Employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time; walk; use stairs and ladders; use hands and arms to reach, handle or manipulate equipment or materials, climb in and out of equipment and confined spaces. 
  • Ability to use hand tools. 
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • The employee must be able to work within extreme cold/hot temperatures.
  • Ability to pass a physical for use of a respirator and/or driving mobile equipment. 
  • Job requires annual or random drug screenings.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 3 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 1 year troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLC’s
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refuge
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Related Field
  • Working knowledge of all or some of the following: Hydraulics, Pneumatics, HVAC, Electrical/Electronic Circuits, PLC’s, Machining Experience, Welding, Wire Installation/Termination, Mobile Equipment Operation and Repair.
  • Own set of basic hand tools.
  • Predictive Maintenance or Condition Based Monitoring Experience and Certifications: (Infrared, Vibration Analysis, Ultrasonic Emissions, Machine Lubrication, Non-Destructive Testing, etc).
  • Computer Skills including Microsoft Office and Predictive Maintenance Tracking Software.
  • Demonstrated commitment to employee involvement, participative management, and continuous improvement
