Arconic has an immediate need for a Maintenance Supervisor in our Niles, OH facility.
 
This is an opportunity to be part of a team in a growing aerospace business; learning key skills in leadership, execution and management. The Maintenance Supervisor will lead, supervise, and monitor the hourly skilled trade employees in the execution of major repairs, overhauls, control of critical spare levels, and equipment shutdowns. The role offers the opportunity to participate in a fast-paced environment managing hourly employees, ensuring efficient and safe operation of equipment producing quality product. The Titanium group within Arconic is a well-established, respected business segment with decades of industry leading manufacturing performance. Arconic continues to make substantial capital investments in the Niles, Ohio facility to support on-going contracts with the Aerospace industry.
 
 
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
 
  • Meets and updates maintenance operational standards by contributing maintenance information to strategic plans and reviews, and by implementing and adhering to production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.
  • Works closely with operations to ensure equipment is running efficiently and plan equipment outages for repairs in conjunction with Operations’ schedules
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing company policies and procedures; complying with legal codes and regulations, follows contractual language, and issues discipline in conjunction with Human Resources.
  • Ensures required cleanliness, organization, and control of tools, parts, and maintenance equipment in all maintenance locations (personnel areas, storage areas, etc.) within assigned plant area of operations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • HS Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing
  • Minimum 1 year of experience managing people
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'green card holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
 
Preferred Qualifications:  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or Business from an accredited institution preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably metals and union environment.
  • 5+ years of mechanical and/or electrical experience, hydraulics and pneumatics, welding, electronic drives, equipment controls, and PLCs.
  • Possess excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, including reading and updating electrical and mechanical schematics and test instruments.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience successfully managing multiple tasks and prioritizing workload, while paying attention to detail.
  • Ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, employee relations, quality, productivity and cost.
  • Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced union manufacturing environment while building a highly effective team.
  • Intermediate to Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office. Experience with SAP a plus.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Experience directing labor force of 5-15 people;
  • Must be available to work a rotating shift assignment and weekends / holidays as required;
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced union manufacturing environment;
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software, SAP experience is a plus; • Must have ability to manage people and processes;
  • Manufacturing background with technical troubleshooting is a plus;
  • Must be willing to make decisions and explain reasoning of decisions to management;
