Arconic Cleveland Operations is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for its aerospace forgings facility located at 1600 Harvard Ave. in Cleveland, OH. Supervisors will be assigned to either of the following shifts based on business needs: 2:30PM-10:30PM or 10:30PM-6:30AM. The principal challenges of this position are training, coaching, and motivating hourly crafts personnel to provide reliable equipment consistent with customer quality and delivery requirements. 

This position requires a comprehensive background in forging technology and thorough knowledge of maintenance and inspection procedures, as well as demonstrated ability to train, develop, and motivate subordinates.  Well-developed communications and human relations skills are essential in day-to-day interaction with all levels of management, both internally and externally

This position supervises hourly personnel responsible for repair and maintenance of aerospace production equipment such as; forging presses, furnaces, cranes, CNC’s, and fork trucks.

Under the direction of a Maintenance Area Lead, this position is accountable for:
  • Coaching, supervising, and training skilled craftspeople, apprentices, and laborers in the repair and maintenance activities of their assigned shift and areas
  • Serving as single point of accountability for maintenance activities on the assigned shift
  • Performing front line trouble shooting activities on equipment in area of responsibility
  • Directing the safety awareness program for the workforce and managing safe work performance, maintaining housekeeping, and assisting the production team in area safety analysis
  • Coordinating PM and other outage activities on equipment in area of responsibility
  • Planning the daily activities of their maintenance crews, providing the tools, materials, and technical direction for the normal maintenance, preventative maintenance, and the capital work in their areas
  • Performing root cause analysis and “5-why” techniques with the goal of eliminating maintenance downtime
  • Working with Engineering on the repetitive maintenance problems to continuously improve the reliability of the equipment and facilities
  • Coordinating and managing the development of maintenance work procedures and standard practices to maximize quality work and eliminate waste
  • Driving continuous improvement activities to eliminate all waste, especially as related to maintenance downtime, safety, work practices, and employee involvement
  • Assisting other Technical Supervisors as needed
  • Effectively managing applicable labor issues within work area
  • Performing administrative requirements to effectively manage work force


Minimum Qualifications:
  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance supervisory experience in a heavy manufacturing environment OR 3 years of experience as a maintenance employee of Arconic.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a unionized work environment.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A technical college degree from an accredited institution (Associate's degree) in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, etc. OR journeyman certification.
  • Experience with forging equipment and CNCs.
