Arconic has an immediate need for a first shift Maintenance Supervisor and second shift in our Fontana, CA facility.

SUMMARY
The Maintenance Supervisor supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment, and in fabricating metal parts and tools by performing the following duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities include the following; other duties may be required and assigned at any time.

Directs workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.

Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.

Lead the change from a reactive to proactive maintenance environment.

Directs workers engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.

Works with Maintenance planner to get daily repair / PM plans executed.

Studies maintenance PM and machine repairs and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.

Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.

Interprets specifications, blueprints, and work orders to workers, and assigns duties.

Leads 5S, EHS and Human performance initiatives

Implement systemic, sustainable solutions to prevent equipment problems from recurring.

Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.

Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.

Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.

Maintains time and production records.

Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.

Performs activities of workers supervised.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises employees in the Maintenance department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of E-Time Payroll system

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing or supervisory experience
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • Experience with hydraulic presses
  • Troubleshooting experience on hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Extensive mechanical maintenance experience
