Arconic is currently in search of an Maintenance Planner to join our Global Rolled Products (GRP) Operations business unit in Texarkana, TX.
This position exists to support the objectives of the plant and assigned areas in managing the 24/7 planning of production and maintenance activities. This position serves as a liaison and coordinator between maintenance and production, as well as supply chain, support services, contractors and engineering personnel.  Production planning responsibilities include schedule building, flow reduction, inventory control, developing and implementing processes which support supply chain requirements at other Arconic facilities. Maintenance planning responsibilities including planning for all planned and unplanned maintenance activities to ensure that preventive and predictive maintenance activities are accomplished completely and on time. To achieve the mission of North American Rolled Products to be the world’s leading supplier of aluminum products, Texarkana’s manufacturing and quality processes need to be technologically sustainable, cost effective, and able to be continually improved.
  • Estimate, plan, and kit all work performed by craft personnel in a cost-effective manner;
  • Provide detailed, step-by-step plans, parts, and materials to the Crafts and supervisors, which will allow them to efficiently complete their work.  This includes planning for day-to-day maintenance activities, as well as planned and unplanned maintenance;
  • Assist in determining work priorities through discussions with maintenance, engineering and production leadership;
  • Own, manage, and monitor department maintenance work orders, Bill of Materials, and metrics to allow prompt scheduling and completion of work;
  • Responsible for maintaining equipment maintenance plans and Preventative Maintenance work orders;
  • Responsible for asset management, Bill of Materials, and storeroom parts criticality;
  • Responsible for procuring and ordering parts;
  • Build schedules that optimize available capacity using a variety of applications;
  • Continuously monitor schedule adherence and execution to identify and communicate changes to current and future schedules;
  • Perform mill load analysis, looking for ways to add efficiencies to the hot line processes at the facilities of internal customers;
  • Handle unexpected downtime issues;
  • Understand how to make changes to lots to restore flow;
  • Build presoak and stress relief loads;
  • Coordinate with other locations to help support the management of third party ingot sales;
  • Understand and perform work release (allocating available ingot to orders);
  • The ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization, as well as external vendors;
  • The person in this role must be available for phone calls 24/7 when needed.


Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience with manufacturing equipment and maintenance support systems;
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with maintenance scheduling;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an aluminum or casting facility;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with maintenance scheduling/production planning;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a union environment;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and Oracle;
  • Obtained the Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT) certifications.
