Arconic is seeking a Maintenance Crew Leader to join our Global Rolled Products (GRP) Operations business unit in Alcoa, TN.

The Maintenance Crew leader will lead and supervise craft mechanical employees, as well as, provide technical troubleshooting skills to identify maintenance issues, and develop solutions. They will also provide technical leadership and training to mechanical craft employees.

The successful candidate will have a strong maintenance background with verifiable, hands-on mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience within an industrial environment. Candidates with supervisory experience, hydraulics, and PLC troubleshooting knowledge are strongly desired. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a motivation to learn all mechanical maintenance aspects of plant operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervising mechanical craft employees within the department, acting as a resource for maintenance guidance to craft and other manufacturing personnel
  • Executing planned and unplanned work to meet department goals
  • Coordinating repairs with customers to ensure minimal equipment downtime
  • Following-up on equipment issues, and developing technical problem-solving solutions
  • Providing on-call response to remedy critical maintenance situations
  • Engaging in continuous improvement initiatives of manufacturing methods, working hand in hand with craft employees
  • Adhering to Arconic EH&S, quality, continuous improvement and other company policies
  • Assuming other special activities and responsibilities from time to time as required
  • Position may require working nights and weekends

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 2 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a technical field
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing or leading others
  • Willing and able to work rotating shifts or non-day shift rotations
  • Proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • 5+ years heavy industrial electrical and mechanical maintenance experience
  • Hands-on mechanical troubleshooting experience in an industrial environment
  • Knowledge of PLCs and hydraulic systems
  • Supervisory experience in a Union environment
  • Strong customer focus and collaboration skills, displays initiative, out-of-box thinking and strong attention to detail
