Job Description

Job Summary:
Plan, layout and construct a variety of intricate, highly specialized tools, fixtures, dies, and gauges, and machining parts requiring high quality workmanship while holding to extremely close tolerances or close tolerances. Train machining operators in programming and operating CNC mills.
 
Fundamental Duties:
•         Fabricate and repair all types, sizes and shapes of jigs, tools, fixtures, and dies to blueprint specifications.
•         Direct, instruct, and train employees in all levels of machining operations and programming all mills.
•         Set up, operate, and program all tool room equipment
•         Ability to make close tolerance parts per prints, sketch or supplied tooling
•         Troubleshoot production equipment making necessary repairs to put equipment back on line.
•         Be able to write 3 plus 2 axis programs and update Cam programs
•         Train employees on 3 & 5 axis programming and operating the CNC mills
•         Train employees to meet all Level 3 & 4 requirements
•         Assist or lead in scheduling of shop orders, for machining, assembly and tool and die repair
•         Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
•         High school diploma or GED
•         Must be 18 years of age or older
•         Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
•         This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
 
 
Skill & Competency Requirements:
•         Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a tool and die shop is required
•         Must have proficient knowledge of mathematical equations and pass a functional test by a score of 70% or higher
•         Must be able to read and interpret GD&T
•         CMM experience preferred.
•         Be able to develop programs from customer supplied models
•         Be able to develop programs from physical models and 2D prints.
•         Must have Master Cam 2 &3D training, or equivalent experience. 5X is optional, but preferred.
•         Ability to weld, using Tig, Mig and stick welders
•         Trained in use of measuring tools, such as calipers, micrometers, scales, and other tools required to take accurate measurements.
•         Required to read blueprints, tools, mapping and work orders
•         Required to read and interpret production orders, safety, operating, maintenance and procedure manuals
•         Must work a full-time schedule and overtime as required
•         Vocational or Technical School training or 5yrs experience in Catia, CNC operating and programming
•         Must have problem solving skills, good communication skills, and the ability to work with others
•         Basic computer skills
•         Aerospace experience preferred
