Primary Purpose
 
Independently sets up and operates single and multi-die cold/hot heading machines to produce parts consistent with print specifications and quality standards. Operate 5 Die forming machines, Nutformer and Nakashimada.                                                                                                                                                          
 
Major Activities                     
  • Independently makes complete set up on all cold heading machines within standard time per router, selects, mounts, and adjusts proper punches and die sets; assembles dies and punches using a Hydraulic press; sets machine speeds, feeds, and stop per kit
  • Works from work orders, heading part prints and machine layouts          
  • Work with various types of materials such as Titanium, 8740, H-11 and other stainless steel
  • Recognizes improper machine functioning and/or tooling problems and takes necessary actions
  • Perform Lock/Out Tag/Out (LOTO)
  • Run multiple machines as required
  • Perform first piece verification process per part print as required
  • Performs daily 5s on work area and equipment
  • Active involvement in AM Bright and process improvement initiatives
  • Perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) as required
  • Trains and assists operators and trainees during various stages of production runs
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet department goals  
  • Follow all EHS Policies, Procedures and reports all incidents immediately
 
Essential Knowledge/Skills
  • Must be willing to work Monday through Thursday 4pm to 3am.
  • Must be familiar with the Daily Management board and cover topics as required
  • Read and interpret part drawings, work instructions, policies and procedures
  • Must be able to use the necessary measuring tools (Micrometers, Calipers, Dial Indicators, Comparator, Gages, etc.) as required
  • Must be LTV (Lock Tag Verified) Authorized
  • Must be willing to travel and cross train to meet company goals
  • Must have excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Must have good communication skills and know basic shop math
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. (May not exceed 30 lbs. per EHS Policies)


Qualifications

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have minimum of 7 years of experience
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
