Arconic Fastening Systems is seeking an experienced ACME Operator to work on Second Shift. Primary Purpose
Independently sets up and operates ACME machines to perform several primary machining operations such as; turning, facing, shaving, chamfering, drilling, counter boring, reaming and threading of raw metal stock to produce precision metal product and trains/mentors new operators in the department
 
Major Activities
  • Create own layout from part print and determine the Revolutions Per Minute (RPM) and cycle times as required
  • Independently performs set-up within standard time per router; operating, troubleshooting and machine service work
  • Adjusts machine parts, tooling, including sharpening tools on surface or pedestal grinders
  • Responsible for producing and maintaining high level quality parts
  • Work with various types of materials such as Titanium, Inconel, 4130, 17-4, A-286, Aluminum and other stainless steel
  • Perform first piece verification process per part print as required
  • Perform Lock/Out Tag/Out (LOTO) 
  • Run multiple machines as required while maintaining high quality parts, efficiency and productivity per standard time on router
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance sheet daily
  • Takes initiative to perform daily 5s in assigned area and machinery
  • Active involvement in Autonomous Maintenance and process improvements initiatives
  • Train new operators as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet facility goals
 
Essential Knowledge/Skills
  • Must be willing to work 4pm to 3am Monday through Thursday. 
  • Must have good communication skills and know basic shop math
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 30 lbs
  • Follow all EHS Policies, Procedures and report all incidents immediately


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred;
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
