Arconic Fastening Systems (AFS) is seeking a skilled machinist to set up and operate various types of machinery in our Sheet Metal Department in Fullerton, CA.

Set-up for operation by self or others, various machines including Punch Press, Tapping, Crimping, Assembly etc.  
Essential Duties
  • Sets up completely and operates or sets up for operation of all standard and specialized machines in departments to which assigned;
  • Sets up, according to work order and set up standard procedures, machines which have been adapted to, or designed for, specialized company products and/or processes;
  • Checks parts with standard gages or precision measuring instruments and submits parts for “first article” inspection as required;                                                                       
  • Operates machines to ensure proper functioning and releases to and instructs operator in procedures for producing parts in conformance with specifications.        
  • S.P.C. charting as required;
  • Learns the set up and operation of any new machines added to the departments to which assigned;
  • Performs other related tasks in departments to which assigned such as: Assembling, drilling, deburring, sorting, counting, etching, stamping, recording of parts processed and housekeeping;
  • Reads blueprints and has knowledge to use micrometers, calipers, comparators, thread gauges, depth micrometers and dial indicators as needed;
  • S.P.C. charting as required;
  • Assist factory supervision and leaders in the training of machine operators.


Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Set Up /Operator;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
