Job Description

Primary Purpose of the Job
Personnel are directly Involved in the inspection of product in the in-process and final inspection areas. The incumbent will use precision inspection tools and equipment, manufacturing drawings (blueprints), and procedures/instructions in their activities to ensure acceptance of product to specifications and requirements. Incumbent should have a basic understanding of all other inspections including; MRB inspection, receiving inspection, and final inspection.

Major activities / Key challenges
  • Conduct initial assembly and establish parameters in the assembly line to meet product installation requirements.
  • Conduct statistical analysis to finalize variable key features of product and parameters of applicable apparatuses.
  • Record activities and settings on proper forms and worksheets for each job.
  • Communicate with assembly team and monitor assembly process.
  • Communicate with engineering and quality on technical issues and implement assigned action items.
  • Conduct final installation testing.
  • Assist quality lab with samples to be used for mechanical testing.
  • Troubleshoot simple issues within the area.
  • Solid interpersonal skills and able to approach challenges methodically.
  • Read and handle measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, torque wrench, indicators and comparators.
  • Ability to handle pneumatic tools and lathe machines.
  • Ability to read and interpret common scientific and technical specifications, drawing prints, work instructions, and legal documents.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to write reports and fill out inspection forms; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of manag-ers, engineers and employees of the organization.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fun-damentals of plane and geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situation where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Knowledge of systems such as QAD or AS 400
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with the fingers, and perceives attributes of objects and materials; ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.


Essential Knowledge & Skills / Education
  • Ability to work between 4:00 PM - 1:30 AM Monday through Friday
  • High school diploma or General education Degree (GED);
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Basic computer skills including electronic mail, word, excel, routine database activity, graphs, etc
  • Must be able to select and utilize general inspection tools
  • Basic understanding of comparing purchase orders with vendor certifications to assure compliance


Basic Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED;
  • Minimum of 2 years experience;
