SUMMARY


The Machining Manufacturing Manager is required to lead the day to day operations of the Savannah Operations. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and leading a team of Supervisors, Machine Operators, Programmers and Engineers. You also have a passion for executing to a plan and a drive for achieving results.

  • Develop and lead a team capable of sustained operational success.
  • Install an environment of empowerment and accountability.
  • Drive a culture of safety, continuous improvement and ownership.
  • Shipment of products in accordance with customer requirements, free of damage, with all required documentation.
  • Interprets company policies and procedures for employees and enforces consistency and sustainability.
  • Develops and implements measures to improve machining operations, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency
    of shop, department, or work crew.
    Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists team members in solving work problems.
    Initiates or suggests plans to motivate direct reports and team members to achieve work goals.
    Collaborates with other managers to coordinate activities of individual departments.
    Adheres to and promotes all company safety rules and requirements and attends   required training and/or meetings.
  • Must have an understanding and knowledge of company procedures and work Instructions.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS
    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
     
    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
    Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Interpret graphs and analyze temperature data.
     
    REASONING ABILITY
    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
     
    COMPUTER SKILLS:
    Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office to include Excel required.
     
    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
    Ability to operate a forklift and man lift to approved O.S.H.A. standards.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.  The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and fumes or airborne particles.  The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.


Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in management or related technical field
  • 5 years management/supervision experience in similar manufacturing environment
