Job Description

    1. Organising Transport for Export (EU & Rest of world) and arranging special transport & paperwork for various customers

    2. Create shipping and invoicing documentation for all Export shipments in line with corporate and legal compliance to also ensuring swift customs clearance.

    3. Produce ASN paperwork for the customer and upload onto the customer portals within documented timescale.

    4. Liaising with Planning and Production regularly to make sure orders meet the specified despatch dates, progress chasing when necessary.

    5. Organising special transport for air freight and other special transport arrangements, ensuring that the approvals have been granted.

    6. Document all aspects of the job, with annual review of all documents and strict adherence to standard work across both sites.

    7. Accurate logging shipments on Shipping Log ensuring that all of the data is entered, approving invoices required for payment, dealing with any queries and logging proof or delivery/export data.

    8. Assist in raising POs for work sent to subcontractors

    9. Single Point Accountability (SPA) for transportation, invoicing, purchase orders, booking, shipping etc.

    10. Raising of all purchase requisitions for local requirements

    11. Responsible for checking all shipping and export documents for accuracy of data and alerting Trade Compliance Manager and CSR’s of any issues

    12. Responsible for ensuring that licensable products are shipped against the correct license, Permission to Ship is obtained; where required and accurate records are maintained.

    13. Liaise with the Firth Rixson appointed customs broker to ensure all Exports are declared correctly.

    14. Chase and obtain the following documents, updating the shipping log as required and ensure that documents are retained and scanned in line with the document retention policy


  1. Previous experiencewith invoicing (not essential)

  2. Experience withshipping and transport requirements.

  3. Export trade compliance and licensingexperience.

  4. Experience ofmeetings with senior management.

  5. Must be flexible to work for training of otherroles within the department to cover holiday, sickness etc.
