Job Description

This position is responsible for leading and supporting Lean Manufacturing efforts in the department working with the business center management, Lean Manufacturing Manager, engineering and operators.  This role may lead Lean Manufacturing events and is responsible for day-to-day Lean Manufacturing support activities including conducting audits and problems solving with operators and leading 5S activities in the department.  This role acts independently requiring minimal supervision and direction.

 Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. 


 This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.


Qualifications

•       Assist with developing, implementation and auditing of Lean Manufacturing and 5-S related standardized work and training employees in standardized work practices.
•       Train and assist with all departmental Lean Manufacturing initiatives, leads weekly Lean Manufacturing workshops with operators to identify issues, conduct problem solving to identify root cause, develops action plans for resolution and follows up on outstanding action items, audit metrics.
•       Participates in 5-S audits and weekly departmental walks with Tooling Manufacturing Manager.  Schedules 5-S audits, ensures employees are following related standardized work and complies 5-S scoring for the department.
•       Participates in continuous improvement initiatives
1.     Experience:
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment (Preferred)
  • 5 years manufacturing experience (preferred).
1.     Education:
This position requires a minimum of a High School diploma or GED.

•       Able to read and interpret documents in written, oral or diagram form; write routine reports and correspondence and perform basic mathematical problems.
•       Good verbal communication skill
•       Ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities and tasks

•       Basic proficiency in the use of computers and basic functionality of the Microsoft Office applications – MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Outlook
