Job Description

Arconic is seeking an IT Director with high energy and drive to join the Finance group in its Arconic Engineered Structures (AES) business. This position will report to the Vice President of Finance, AES and is based in Cleveland, Ohio. This position requires the ability to travel up to 25%. 

The primary responsibility of the IT Director is to provide cost effective delivery of information systems and ensure reliability of the computing environment within AES’s infrastructure and systems. The incumbent plans, directs, and controls all global IS activities for the business unit within the framework of Arconic’s strategy, guidelines, and policies.

Role responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Develop and drive global Information Systems strategy consistent with business unit and corporate goals and objectives across all AES global locations. This includes:

  • ERP consolidation roadmap and strategy
  • Acquisition integration
  • Yearly global IT budget (expense and capital)
  • Support productivity, operational excellence, production operations
  • Enable global supply chain, support global growth
  • Support sales, logistics, and functions working across sites
  • Enable automation strategy
  • Provide timely business information to all stakeholders
  • Support Alcoa/Customer/Industry requirements and compliance
  • Secure business data and intellectual property

Approve and oversee projects and project portfolio.
Manage IT staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and performance actions.
Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with executives, Board members, and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.
The role coordinates IS service delivery between multiple GBS groups (e.g.  MIO, GID, PMO, GSC), site IS organizations and the various other organizations within the business units.
The position is responsible for establishing SLA’s with all organizations not under its direct control.  Given the matrix of central organizations (ISD, GSC, etc.) and locations that are shared with other BU’s (AEN, AFS) this is a fairly complex network through which to work.  The incumbent must use leadership skills outside of positional authority to influence activities toward the accomplishment of overall business objectives; successfully managing all of these dynamics is a key challenge of this role.

Knowledge, Skills, & Experience:

  • Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards
  • Extensive application support experience
  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development
  • Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
  • Strong understanding of human resource management principles, practices, and procedures
  • Strong understanding of project management principles


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 10 years of IT experience, with a minimum of 5 years of management experience.
  • Due to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Defense Federal Application Regulation Supplement (DFARS), applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR/DFARS.  ITAR/DFARS defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
