Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic student to join our team as a Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) summer intern. This position will:

* Conduct industrial hygiene sampling including air, noise and heat stress.

* Coach and mentor department supervisors and shop floor workers on the importance of a proactive safety culture.

* Assist in development of an EHS training database.
* Complete machine guarding assessments on multiple pieces of shop floor equipment.

* Participate in EHS investigations.
* Identify potential compliance issues, program control problems and environmental impacts, and develop solutions to these potential issues.
* ​​​Perform routine inventories and inspections to ensure company compliance with federal and state laws, including reporting requirements.
* ​Lead or support other EHS initiatives as determined.

Interns are assigned projects based on their business unit specifications which will vary depending on location. With over 50 locations across the US, there are opportunities to work in a variety places around the country. Basic Qualifications

  • A minimum of a sophomore status and currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program in Occupational Safety, Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental Engineering

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status

Preferred Qualifications

  • Junior or Senior status preferred

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Ability to work in a self-directed or team environment

  • ​Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong organizational skills
