Arconic Engines is seeking an Instrumentation Engineer, for our Super Alloy Facility located at Dover, NJ. The Instrumentation Engineer focuses on the design, development, installation, management and maintenance of equipment that is used to monitor and control engineering systems, machinery and processes. They are responsible for maintaining the functionality of all instrumentation systems within the shop. This will include working with technicians and other engineers on commissioning, testing, maintaining and replacement of instrumentation, online analyzers, as well involving some PLC programming.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & SPECIFICATIONS

The Instrumentation Engineer is responsible for data calibration and coordinating the implementation of full-life cycle product development programs to ensure the on-time delivery of reliable software releases, which meet customer specifications and maintain company standards.

  • Comply with all department, facility, corporate and regulatory Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) regulations as well as manage existing or new EHS program(s) across the business as assigned.
  • Expected to assist in the implementation of Arconic’s’ value and policy statement, accompanying its principles.
  • Provide technical advice during troubleshooting and corrective action of instrument breakdown or failures to find the root cause and best solution to restore the functionality back to normal.
  • Accountable for the design, layout, testing and evaluation of mechanical and electro-mechanical devices or systems.
  • Identify, study, propose, and implement area for improvement (project) in the field of instrumentation engineering to enhance operation and improve total equipment reliability.
  • Develop the plan, scope and lead the execution of shutdown works for instrumentation to ensure completion within the specified window.
  • Assist the operational, technical and engineering teams in the manufacturing environment on the plant floor, balancing business needs and financial metrics with continuous improvement, and the personal, professional, and analytical toolset necessary to accomplish these goals.





Basic Qualifications

  • Associates degree from an accredited institution
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires US person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an US Citizen, US Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder). Verification of Employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience
  • Ability to understand and interpret electrical/ mechanical drawings, schematics and manuals.
  • Experience with maintaining an instrument database
  • Working knowledge of computer applications (AutoCAD, MS Office and PLC programming languages).
  • General knowledge of electrical codes and standards (ANSI, IEEE, NEC).
  • Knowledge and experience in robotics is desired.
  • Demonstrated understanding of control systems and diverse electrical equipment associated with a generating facility.
  • Must be a self-starter capable of handling solo projects as well as working with a group, eager to expand knowledge base, teach others, and be detail oriented
  • Experience in gas turbine industry is a plus.
