Job Description

Arconic Fastening Systems is looking for an Inside Sales Team Leader in our Inside Sales – Customer Service Department.  Oversees the daily activities of the Industrial Distribution Group’s Inside Sales - Customer Service team. Performs all the usual duties of Inside Sales – Customer Service Representatives while also providing general guidance to team members on job priorities, resolution of customers’ issue and technical matter. Refers matters of significance to immediate manager for guidance and or resolution. This position does not have authority in the areas of performance evaluations, compensation adjustments, corrective discipline or hiring/termination, but may provide input to immediate manager on such matters. Inside Sales Team Leader will be based in Tracy, CA.

Specific Responsibilities Include:
  • Performs all Inside Sales/Customer Service activities with a high level of efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provides general oversight and direction to a team of Inside Sales and Customer Service Representatives.
  • Communicates effectively with all levels of the AFS Industrial organization and with internal/external customers.
  • Advises immediate Manager, Outside Sales and Marketing of significant information learned from customers.
  • Furnishes technical assistance to less experienced team members to ensure the support is provided in accordance with established processes, quality standards, systems/schedules.
  • Oversees customer pricing and ensures that all quotations are provided in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Resolves customer concerns and problems to the maximum possible extent and refers unresolved or major customer issues to immediate Manager for assistance with implementing solutions.
  • Responsible for training team members on technical aspects of products (e.g., applications), enterprise systems (e.g., Baan). productivity software (e.g., MS Excel), company policies and related matters.
  • Monitors team members’ daily reports and acts to identify and correct job performance deficiencies. 
  • Assists immediate Manager and others within the Americas Sales & Marketing organization or other functional groups with projects and assignments (e.g., pricing/surcharge implementations, ASATs).
  • May be required to provide to management or customers outside of normally scheduled business hours.
  • Ensures that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards.
  • Maintains full compliance with Company policies and procedures and conducts all activities in accordance with the Arconic Code of Conduct.
  • Demonstrates a knowledge of and commitment to continuous improvement principles and techniques.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering or related disciplines required.
  • Minimum five years of experience Inside Sales and/or Customer Service activities and one-year experience leading team members.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.  ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
