Arconic is currently in search of an Infrastructure Specialist-Project Leader to join our Global Rolled Products (GRP) COE in Alcoa, TN.
The Infrastructure Specialist-Project Leader will support the overall Global Rolled Products (GRP) Smart Manufacturing strategy by providing broad knowledge in computing infrastructure to deploy the optimal environment for our new applications hosted at the different plants in GRP group.  Partnering with our corporate Leveraged Managed Systems (LMS), Global Business Systems (GBS), GRP applications teams and location Process Control Systems (PCS)  teams to deliver creative, cost effective solutions. 
Major responsibilities for this position are:
  • Overall infrastructure deployment and support for manufacturing Information Systems (IS) across GRP, leveraging Corporate IS team expertise for system deployments
  • Become familiar with the facilities and local/wide area networks at the locations and ensure Disaster Recovery capability for the business unit leveraged systems
  • Supervise GRP manufacturing infrastructure team; including staffing recommendations, assignment and prioritization of projects and tasks, coaching, training, performance management, and providing input into compensation decisions
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor infrastructure project activities to achieve goals within defined performance metrics
  • Backup support of the systems from a hands-on infrastructure role
  • Regularly work with virtual teams
  • Assist in the establishment of a data governance framework and help promote its use within the business
  • Help maintain IT Security;  recognize opportunities to improve the security of the environment
  • Ensure the team operates in accordance with all Arconic compliance standards
  • Effectively utilize project methodology and tools to deliver solutions and communicate status
  • Operate within and influence IS standards and conventions and promote adherence within the IS organization
  • Pursue continuous learning consistent with changes in technology and use this to influence IS direction


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with project deployment
  • Minimum of 5 years’ Windows Systems administration or Linux Systems administration
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. persons status. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Advanced degree
  • Familiarity with cyber security practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
  • IT experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience with SQL server, Microsoft BI, SharePoint, VMware
