This opening is in our Kawneer business located in Norcross, GA. We are the leading manufacturer of architectural aluminum products and systems for the commercial construction industry. Kawneer is part of Arconic’s global Building and Construction Systems (BCS) business unit, which manufactures and markets architectural systems and products in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

The Information Technology (IT) Applications Manager is responsible for delivering technology solutions to support business process efficiencies. The IT Applications Manager will partner with business and IT leaders to identify business and technology objectives, associated information technology requirements, associated value, and develops the implementation plans to achieve defined goals.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Own and direct IS planning, strategy and budget management for ERP / Applications;
  • Collaborate with BCS business process owners and key decision makers across Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering, Finance and other functions to deliver world class information technology services.;
  • Manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal and external providers;
  • Be a BCS project manager for strategic projects;
  • Coordinate IS service delivery between the BCS Business Applications IS staff, GIS (shared services) and business operations – drive implementation of Arconic, and BCS standard tools;
  • Work closely with BCS IS leadership to align IS strategy globally;
  • Accountable for ensuring that the necessary IS controls within the business unit are in place and meets or exceeds the Arconic’s compliance and internal control requirements.

Major Activities and Key Challenges Include:
  • Guide BCS Business Application IS strategy and project implementation across North America;
  • Provide operational leadership for the delivery of strategic initiatives, including ERP upgrades, associated business systems, and project management for on time / on budget / on scope delivery;
  • Manage annual BCS IS spend for Business Applications, including operating cost, chargebacks, and capital projects;
  • Advocate and implement the Arconic Corporate IS strategy as established by the CIO Lead Team;
  • Recommend and implement common systems solutions covering all locations and functions, driving both BCS and Arconic system standards;
  • Drive the implementation of common processes across BCS locations, particularly in ERP and Reporting systems;
  • Drive ERP systems consolidation onto BCS common platforms (JD Edwards);
  • Have the ability to manage simultaneous projects across multiple sites and disciplines with competing priorities and diverse business models;
  • Lead regional organization of 9+ employees (direct and matrix reports), dedicated central resources, and contractors. Ensure the growth and development of the Business Applications IS staff through continuous learning, development, succession planning, and exposure to diverse BCS/Arconic operations and projects.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science and Information Technology from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum 10 years of Information Technology and / or Information Services work experience;
  • Minimum 4 years of supervisory and / or management experience;
  • Minimum 3 years of ERP project/support experience;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • IT experience in Manufacturing and / or other industry with complex supply chain;
  • Experience working with JD Edwards E1/World ERP system and Oracle EBS R12;
  • International work experience;
  • Project Management experience;
  • Experience in a large complex organization.
