Job Description


The IGT Industrial Engineer will be responsible for performing an assortment of tasks supporting Production and Engineering departments.  The role is responsible for maintaining and designing systems for process control; troubleshooting systems to keep them operational, specifying hardware and improvements by performing the following duties.  The prime responsibility for this position is to engineer the highest yield and lowest overall cost product while meeting or exceeding all customer defined quality requirements.  In this position you will work in a team environment with other engineers as well as hands on with the manufacturing team so strong communication skills are required.
Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities
  • Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods to provide engineering support to process engineering, production control, quality assurance, and all manufacturing areas to resolve technical problems and improve quality and durability.
  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency utilizing lean manufacturing principles, tools and techniques.
  • Reviews process steps and standards, and Bill of Material items, to ensure proper documentation of costs and materials.  Prepares reports and analyses of labor and material costs including labor efficiency and departmental utilization (both man and machine).
  • Designs, develops and supports data products for Cost Modeling, and Cost evaluation. Conducts analyses of manufacturing and engineering performance to support improvements in quality, efficiency, and cost reductions.
  • Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Utilization of lean manufacturing and 6 Sigma practices/techniques to improve workplace efficiencies, reduce costs and to aid in the resolution of manufacturing issues.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
  • Must comply with all company attendance policies and guidelines; this includes, but is not limited to, regular attendance and occasional overtime.

Job Specifications
 Education:
This position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Industrial other Engineering discipline.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong MS Office skill.  Exceptional knowledge of MS Excel and other databases to facilitate the data collection and analysis required to support job requirements.  Competent in use of PowerPoint for presentation of data.
Reads, analyzes, and interprets blue prints, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Effectively write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Presents information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Applies advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.  Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Excellent communication skills are required.  The ability to effectively work with all levels of the organization to achieve goals is required.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
Must be self-motivated to continue to drive improvement.
Experience:
This position requires a minimum of three years of related technical experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial or other related Engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in Industrial Engineering in a manufacturing environment
  • Lean Manufacturing and 6 Sigma experience in a manufacturing environment is required
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

  • Investment casting experience
