Job Description

Job Summary
The technician will work under general supervision to provide support to manufacturing as a program resource for multi-axis CNC equipment for the machining of castings to precision tolerances, using Surfcam, and NX software. Additionally, the position will be responsible to support manufacturing through the coordination of the design/build of manufacturing fixtures for processing/transporting production and development product.

Essential Functions

Ability to interpret complex blueprints, instructions, and inspection requirements
Advanced math skills (Algebra, Trigonometry, and Geometry)
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Utilize CAD/CAM, Surfcam, and NX software to build part models and create tool paths
Use basic and advanced metrology equipment
Proficiency in the use of CAD/CAM software is Required (Surfcam or NX is preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Willingness and accommodating to work OT and/or a flexible schedule, if required, to ensure business and customer needs are met
Daily focus on efficiency and elimination of waste

Good computer skills (file transfer, CAD/CAM, Microsoft Office)
Advanced machining skills
Understanding of digitized techniques
Understanding of NX software (or the ability to be trained)
Manipulate models in Unigraphics & Solidworks (or the ability to be trained)
G Code programming (or the ability to be trained)
Ability to load/unload and set-up parts using CNC equipment (castings, setters, molds, fixtures, etc.)
Ability to perform Robot Programming, including Monoshell
Support manufacturing through design of fixtures for proper methods and transportation.Work scope will include working with local tool shops and on-site tool room

Basic Qualifications

High School or GED.
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications

Technical training in shop practices(blueprint reading, metrology and layout)
Completion of a Machinist’s Certification program
A minimum of 2 years of CNC programming experience is preferred
