Job Description



 SUMMARY

Under general supervision, performs and coordinates a variety of professional and technical Human Resources functions, including leave of absence administration, recruiting, workers' compensation administration, and various other human resources functions.  Analyzes Human Resources data and assures effective administration of Company policies and procedures.  
 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Duties and responsibilities include the following; other duties may be required and assigned at any time.
  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
  • Compiles and calculates various (wkly and monthly) statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to pay, headcount, turnover, benefits accounts, and submits them to appropriate departments
  • Ensures that monthly, quarterly, and year-end HR procedures are complete and accurate
  • Verity, process & document forms, reviews and reconciles monthly invoices for all benefit lines of coverage
  • Provides guidance and acts as a resource for employees and management; within limits of delegated responsibility, ensures their understanding, interpretation and compliance with personnel policies, programs, and procedures
  • Prepares attendance corrective actions as needed and in accordance to company’s attendance policy
  • Ensure compliance and administer LOA process under FMLA, CFRA, PFL, Workers Comp, etc.
  • Assists department in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for all company employee
  • Participates in developing department goals and objectives; recommends new approaches, policies and procedures; works to automate and/or streamline all HR processes.
  • Handles employee relations issues; may conduct investigations into employee complaints/concerns and performs disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Provides assistance and coaching to supervisors on employee development and disciplinary procedures.
  • Manages ongoing recruitment of qualified production personnel and implements effective recruitment strategies; partner with supervisors/managers to asses recruiting needs and identify key issues; maintains job descriptions and job postings.
  • Works closely with managers, employees and other members of human resources to ensure proper handling of all leave of absence activities, including all applicable state, federal, local leave laws and company policy.
  • Responds to initial requests for information for unemployment benefits.
 
COMPUTER SKILLS
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with ADP, Oracle, GPS, Workbrain, and Taleo preferred.  
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS
 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

    REASONING ABILITY
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or Organization Development or equivalent.
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Minimum 3-5 plus years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions
 
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s degree
  • PHR/SHRM Certified
  • 2-5 years Generalist experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, training, and preventive labor relations, preferred.
